Thanks for stopping by! Thanks for those coffees! And thanks for your support!

The pen name is a frustrating dilemma, but I remain convinced I had no choice.

Recently, I read an article from McKenzie & Company about the results of a workplace survey on mental health. I can't find the link to it anymore, but the gist of it was disheartening. A majority of workers were not comfortable working with somebody who had been through a depression, and even less if they had attempted suicide.

Even post-depression and fully recovered, you are still perceived as unreliable.

It is as if people didn't believe in life after depression or suicide attempt–a bit like so many people do not believe in rehabilitation after incarceration. In other words, depression is seen as a voluntary crime instead of an illness.

Therefore, I had no choice but to use a pen name to write about depression and suicide so that I could continue in my career and have revenues to pay for groceries!
